Day 1: Welcome to Amsterdam (D)

Let the wonder commence. Raise your glass to a fabulous cruise at this evening’s welcome reception.

Day 2: Amsterdam (B,L,D)

Explore wonderful Amsterdam – with its wealth of canals, museums and bicycles
Freechoice: Windmills, cheese and clogs are synonymous with traditional Dutch culture and today you’ll have the chance to venture to vibrant Zaanse Schans to encounter them first hand as you journey through the reclaimed landscapes of Beemster. Wander streets with traditional wooden buildings, and get a taste for this unique pocket of the Netherlands by sampling some of its fine, locally produced cheeses. You’ll also visit a working windmill and enjoy a clog making demonstration. Alternatively, you can choose to cruise through Amsterdam’s remarkable network of canals and see why thousands come to this fine city.
Finally, enjoy a little downtime in Amsterdam before taking a picturesque cruise on to the city of Antwerp.

Day 3: Antwerp (B,L,D)

Freechoice: Let a local expert guide you through Bruges, the charming World Heritage-listed city with a hive of picturesque canals and cobblestone streets. Alternatively, explore Antwerp, Belgium’s second city, renowned as the diamond capital of the world and located on the banks of the River Scheldt. The city offers an abundance of world class restaurants, striking architecture and is home to some of Belgium’s finest fashion designers.

Day 4: Veere

Freechoice: Visit the Delta Works including the famous Storm Surge Barrier; an incredible feat of modern engineering that was purpose built to protect the flooding Delta plain. Or you can choose to explore the charming village of Veere, located on a series of regional dykes, with a history that extends all the way back to the 15th century. Alternatively, for the more active embark on an enjoyable guided cycling tour of Veere and its surroundings.
In the evening, you’ll get to view the many delightful waterfront villages on the banks of the River Scheldt as we cruise on to Rotterdam.

Day 5: Rotterdam > Kinderdijk (B,L,D)

Freechoice: Join your knowledgeable local guide on a tour of Rotterdam – a dynamic, international city with a bold and passionately beating heart.  Or if you’d prefer, you could choose to explore beautiful Delft, before dropping in at the pottery factory and museum to discover more about world-famous Delft Blue Pottery.
Picturesque Kinderdijk is famous for its beautiful historic windmills and you’ll get the chance to see them up close as we step ashore. Now is the time to relax and let yourself be enveloped by Holland’s rustic old world charm.

Day 6: Volendam > Hoorn (B,L,D)

Travel from the sleepy fishing village of Volendam, with its unusual raised homes and its quaint wooden church, and head to Edam, famous for its round cheese. You’ll simply love this city of beautiful town squares, old-style bridges and cheese warehouses. Then, relax over lunch as you take a pleasurable cruise to the harbour city of Hoorn.

Freechoice: Walk Hoorn with a guide and be inculcated into local life with fine cheese and fish tastings. Or you can choose to take a bike, as it’s a great village to cycle through. Alternatively, stay on board and relax while you enjoy a clog painting presentation.
This evening, a special experience awaits you. You’ll get the chance to commune with the hospitable locals of this quiet pocket of north-eastern Holland. Not only is there much friendly conversation in store, you can anticipate a truly sumptuous dinner, in the local style, with accompanying entertainment. What a fabulous way to celebrate your time in this charming region.

Day 7: Keukenhof Gardens (B,L,D)

Enjoy a visit to Keukenhof Gardens, which have delighted visitors for over 60 years. You’ll literally get to see and smell millions of flowering tulips, and delight in intricate flower displays and expansively sculpted surrounds. Also known as the Garden of Europe, Keukenhof Gardens is the world’s second largest flower garden and explodes with colour against a backdrop of neatly manicured lawns, meandering waterways, and impeccably designed landscapes. Upon your return to Amsterdam, you’ll get to enjoy some free time to cap off a day of wonderful exploration.

Day 8: Amsterdam (B)

After a good breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Amsterdam airport for your onward or homebound flight. You’ll be taking a lifetime of wonderful memories back with you.
