Scenic Tours announced that the 2012 Russia River Cruising season would be on board the Sergey Kuchkin. After extensive visits by Scenic management staff to Russia and after consultation with the ship owners, Scenic Tours has come to the conclusion that the Sergey Kuchkin would not provide the standard of cruising that guests of Scenic Tours expect. For Scenic Tours, when it comes to product, there can be no substitutes or compromise.
Scenic Tours is extremely excited to announce that for 2012 we are upgrading all of our Russia River Cruises to the Scenic Tsar. Scenic Tours has procured the Scenic Tsar and in total over 6.25 million Euros will be invested to completely refurbish and deliver the premier, fi rst class luxury river cruising vessel on Russia’s waterways. The project hascommenced in earnest and construction work will begin early September 2011 with the ship entering service mid May 2012.

New for 2012, for those joining the 15 day Imperial Jewels of Russia River Cruise between St. Petersburg and Moscow, you will enjoy a traditional Russian lunch at the old-world wooden ‘Podvorie’ restaurant in St. Petersburg, where all produce and wine is home-grown at the owner’s private summer residence. You will also experience a private Russian ballet performance, a home visit to taste authentic Russian tea and piroshky, and a private tour of Moscow’s celebrated St. Basil’s Cathedral. Finally, guests will have the opportunity to meet a real Cosmonaut during a guided tour of Star City space training centre.
