Overview

DAY 1: Amsterdam (D)
Welcome to Amsterdam. A Scenic Tours representative will personally greet you and arrange your transfer* to your luxury Scenic Tours ‘Space-Ship’. On board be warmly welcomed by our dedicated crew. Tonight enjoy a Welcome reception with your fellow travellers.

DAY 2: Amsterdam (FB,L,D)
This morning choose from the following Included SCENIC FREE CHOICE Tours: (1) A guide tour of Anne Frank House and city tour; or (2) A guided bike tour; or (3) A sightseeing canal cruise. For the more adventurous choose our SCENIC FREE TIME: self guided walking tour with your own personal audio guide.

DAY 3: Arnhem – Wesel (FB,L,D)
Disembarking our cruise in Nijmegen, journey to Arnhem and the 5,500-hectare De Hoge Veluwe National Park, home to many endangered plant and animal species. Our Included tour will visit the Kröller Müller Museum and Europe’s largest sculpture garden. Crossing the board to Germany you will rejoin your cruise in Wesel.

DAY 4: Bonn (FB,L,D)
Today we visit Germany’s former administration and political centre, Bonn, where you will enjoy an Included sightseeing tour and walk through the Old Town.

DAY 5: Cochem (FB,L,D)
Feel as if you are stepping directly into a fairy tale on your Included guided tour of Cochem. Today we invite you to experience traditional wine-making with a tasting at a local family-owned winery.

DAY 6: Bernkastel – Trier (FB,L,D)
This morning our ship docks in Bernkastel and we journey to one of Germany’s oldest cities, Trier, where you will stroll through history to sites dating back to the Roman times, such as Dom St. Peter Cathedral. After lunch on board your Scenic ‘Space -ship’, join your local guide as you discover Bernkastel, with its famous medieval market square and reputation for great wine. Tonight we overnight onboard in Bernkastel.

DAY 7: Luxembourg (FB,L,D)
Journey today to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Luxembourg is one of three capital cities to house administrative offices for the European Union. Join your guide on an included walking tour highlighting Luxembourg’s well preserved old town.  Enjoy leisure time back in Bernkastel before setting sail along the beautiful Moselle River where you can sit back and relax on your own private balcony or one of three viewing areas onboard. 

DAY 8: Boppard – Rhine Gorge (FB,L,D)
Today we cruise through the spectacular Rhine Gorge, with its stunning vistas of castles perched above the steep vine-covered slopes. We stop in the heart of Rhine country to discover Boppard, a medieval town with a 2000 year old history. As we set sail again learn about the legend of the Lorelei and fall under the spell of the magic Rhine Valley.

DAY 9: Heidelberg (FB,L,D)
Heidelberg is one of Germany’s most beautiful towns. Today you will have the opportunity to visit Germany’s first and one of Europe’s oldest universities on your Included guided city tour. On our full day excursion you will have the opportunity to ascend up the Heidelberger Castle or you may wish to discover more of the city at your own pace with our SCENIC FREE TIME: self guided audio tour.

DAY 10: Baden-Baden (FB,L,D)
After the ship docks in Gambsheim, we take an excursion to the exquisite town of Baden-Baden located in the Black Forest. On your Included guided tour visit the 250 year old Casino, the oldest and largest in Germany and said to be one of the most beautiful in the world. Baden-Baden famous for its thermal hot springs, has attracted celebrities, royals and the wealthy since the 19th Century.

DAY 11: Strasbourg (FB,L,D)
A taste of France awaits you as we cruise to “the crossroads of Europe”, Strasbourg. SCENIC FREE CHOICE offers the following Included tours: (1) A walking tour of Strasbourg, including La Petite France; or (2) An excursion to the French Alsace Wine Region, including a tasting. You may wishto choose our SCENIC FREE TIME: self guided audio guide to explore the lovely canals and half-timbered houses of Strasbourg on your own.

DAY 12: Black Forest (FB,L,D)
Join us today on an Included full day excursion to the majestic Black Forest. SCENIC ENRICH We start with a baking demonstration of the world famous Black Forest cake and coffee at the open air museum of Vogtsbauernhof before taking a train directly through the heart of the Black Forest. We enjoy lunch off board today in the town of Triberg where we will see the World’s biggest Cuckoo clock and stunning waterfalls. This evening join your Captain in a farewell reception and dinner.

DAY 13: Basel (FB,L,D)
Enjoy time this morning on your private balcony or on the top sun deck as we glide through to the Swiss town of Basel. Discover on our Included guided tour the Marktplatz, with its daily fresh food markets and the striking Rathaus, Basel’s City Hall.

DAY 14: Basel – Interlaken (FB,D)
After breakfast this morning it is time to disembark your cruise. Our journey takes us past gorgeous mountain scenery on route to Interlarken. Enjoy an Included orientation tour of the town with your Tour Director before enjoying free time on your own to explore as you wish.
Two Night Special Stay: Interlaken

DAY 15: Interlaken (FB)
Today we travel through breathtaking scenery to the Swiss Alps and picturesque mountain village of Mürren. Ascend by cablecar from Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp, where you will have the choice of a leisurely hike of approx. 1.5 hours to Mürren  or relax and enjoy the scenery on board the small train to Mürren. On arrival there is time to wander the mountain village at your leisure and breath in the crisp air or you may choose (at extra cost) to ride the aerial cableway to Schilthorn - a.k.a Piz Gloria from the James Bond movie ‘On Her Majesty’s secret service’, with its revolving restaurant.  We descend by cable car to the town of Stechelberg before re joining our coach back to Interlaken.

DAY 16: Interlaken – Brunig Pass – Lucerne (FB,HD)
Via Brienz we travel to Lucerne where on our Included tour we cross the medieval Chapel Bridge and see the Lion Monument. Tonight we enjoy a traditional folklore show as we savour a traditional meal of fondue.

DAY 17: Lucerne – Zurich (FB)
Your Included walking tour on arrival in Zurich, reveals a contrast between the modern buildings on the Bahnhofstrasse and the imposing Romanesque Cathedral which dominates the old town. Enjoy leisure time this afternoon.

DAY 18: Zurich (FB)
After breakfast this morning you will be transferred* by your Scenic Tours Representative to the Airport for your onward or homebound flight.
