A highlight of your Scenic river cruise is the sparkling array of colorful performances by traditional entertainers that we often bring to you on board in the evenings. After dinner you can retire to the Lounge to enjoy our regular pianist or the best of local talent with guest musicians and entertainers.

Your evening entertainment will vary depending on where the ship is located. It could be the zither music that is so popular in the Alpine regions of Germany, Switzerland and Austria as Tony Emerson delights you with well-known melodies such as Edelweiss, Dr. Zhivago and the Third Man Theme. Or, join in the fun with the rollicking tunes of a traditional Bavarian Brass Band or perhaps a colorful gypsy troupe as they move among the audience, often involving you in their singing and dancing.
Cultural activities to amuse and inform
As well as musicians and performers we also bring on board speciality artists to showcase their skills and expertise. Enjoy the creativity of flameworker Hans-Joachim Ittig, as he demonstrates Germand glassblowing techniques and possibly invites you to blow a personal glass ornament. Or be entertained by the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble with authentic folk music and dance in the very best of dance-house tradition. When sailing from Regensburg, we offer daytime entertainment with a cuckoo clock demonstration that explains the history of clock-making in the Black Forest region and gives examples of how cuckoo clocks are made and work.

Special events that are truly exceptional
An unforgettable experience is an evening in Vienna, when you attend a private Viennese concert at the majestic Palais Leichtenstein featuring the music of Strauss and Mozart. And, new for 2011, is a chance to step back in time in the towering spectacle of Marksburg Castle. Crowning a hilltop high above the town of Braubach, Marksburg Castle was built in the 12th centure and inhabited for over 700 years. It is in the most original state of any castle on the Rhine. After a guided tour of the castle, you are treated to a spectacular private dinner and entertainment, with knights, jugglers and musicians in medieval dress.
